USB mass storage device is not recognized in "My Computer" But shows in Device Manager

Most likely, this problem occurs if the USB drive is more than 16GB
For USB flash/ drive, try the following:

Run "regedit" and select the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE go to SYSTEM go to MountedDevices" .

See all the "\DosDevices\C:" listed. you will see C: D: or  physically mounted drive (HDD or Disc) also the USB one like E: and/or F: Double click each device listed and see if you see text saying something like "U.S.B.S.T.O.R...". It is in binary format. That is USB registry.

Anyway before doing below process. I mean, When you are on regedit page click 'f5' button to refresh. and try to connect the flash/thumb drive and see if gets recognized. If not go to the below step.

Once you find that device, right click it and select "Rename". Now change the drive letter only to something unused... like P, Q etc. or something.
Close regedit,
disconnect the USB device and reconnect again.
